General FAQs
What ages are the classes for?
Our Active Mums classes are designed for mums with babies and toddlers, while our preschool multi-sports sessions are perfect for children aged 2 to 5 years.
Do my babies or children join in?
Absolutely! Active Mums classes are built so you can exercise with your little ones right there. In our preschool sessions, children are the main stars.
What should I bring along
Please wear trainers and comfortable clothing. We recommend bringing a drink for yourself, snacks for your little one(s), any favourite toys to keep them entertained, and a play mat if your baby is not yet mobile.
Where are the classes held?
Our private Multi Sports classes are delivered at nurseries and schools across Northumberland, Gateshead, Newcastle, and North Tyneside. Our Active Mums postnatal classes are currently held in Gateshead.
How do I book a session?
Any private nursery or school wishing to book Multi Sports with Fit&Ness classes, please contact us by email at Beactive@fitandness.co.uk.
Active Mums with Fit&Ness classes are booked through our Active Mums WhatsApp Community. As these classes are specifically designed for the postnatal period, we use this booking process to ensure that your current stage of postnatal recovery is suitable for the class and that you can participate safely.
Are classes safe and qualified?
Safety is priority. All sessions are led by qualified instructors with full insurance, safeguarding certificates, and first-aid training.
Active Mums FAQs
Can I join after birth or C-section?
Yes! We recommend waiting until you have received your GP's postnatal sign-off at 6–8 weeks after a vaginal birth or 10–12 weeks after a C-section.
At Fit&Ness, we understand that every mum's recovery is different and that recovery times can vary. Our classes are designed to be fully adaptable, allowing exercises to be modified to suit your individual stage of recovery.
What if my baby needs feeding mid-session?
No problem at all. We promote a completely baby-led environment. Feel free to stop, feed, or change your baby and jump back in whenever you're ready. Baby always comes first at Fit&Ness!
What is the intensity level like?
We focus on safe, effective movements that build core strength and fitness. Every exercise has modifications to suit your recovery stage and energy levels.
Can I bring my buggy to the session?
Absolutely! All our venues are buggy accessible, and we often incorporate buggies into our outdoor Buggy Fitness class for a bit of extra resistance!
What is your cancellation policy?
Life with little ones can be unpredictable. Please notify us 24 hours in advance to receive class credit.
Multi Sports FAQs
Do children need any special equipment?
We provide all the sports and Fit&Ness equipment. Just make sure your little sports stars are in comfortable clothing and trainers for plenty of movement.
Personal Training FAQs
Is PT also child-friendly?
Absolutely! Children are welcome at your personal training sessions. We can plan the workout around their naps or incorporate them into the session safely.
Where do PT sessions take place?
Private at-home Personal Training sessions take place in the comfort of your own home, whether that's in your home gym or any suitable space you have available to train.
We come to you, eliminating the need to arrange childcare or travel to a gym, making it easier to fit fitness into your busy schedule. This convenient service is especially popular during the darker winter months, when many clients appreciate being able to train safely and comfortably at home.
Can I share a session with a friend?
Yes! We offer 1-to-2 or small group personal training for mums who want to train together and share the fun (and the cost!).
